Structural, morphological and magnetic properties of hexaferrite BaCo2Fe16O27 nanoparticles and their efficient lead removal from water

Abstract W-hexaferrite BaCo 2 Fe 16 O 27 was prepared using the citrate nitrate combustion method. The sample characterized XRD, SEM, EDX and elemental mapping. XRD confirmed that synthesized in a single phase hexagonal structure with an average crystallite size 37.39 nm. SEM images of show spongy morphology agglomerated grain owing to dipole interaction between crystallites. magnetic properties were studied H-M hysteresis loop DC susceptibility. has ferrimagnetic behavior saturation magnetization 64.133 emu/g. are originated from 3+ –O–Fe superexchange. is used as adsorbent remove heavy metal Pb 2+ water. removal efficiency 99% 28% at pH 8 7 respectively. Langmuir Freundlich isotherms analyze experimental data. adsorption isotherm fitted data well.
